Spotlight Shines On: Typhoon Crashes on Southeast Asia

Much of Southeast Asia was greatly affected by Typhoon Haiyan, in the beginning of November. The Philippines were hit the hardest, killing over 5,000 people and over 1,000 people are still missing. The storm also hit Micronesia, Vietnam, and Southern China. There was no time for the survivors of the Philippines to mourn deaths or their destroyed homes,  as they were busy with the task of rescuing those still injured or trapped within the wreckage. Although there was money and supplies donated by other countries, they still need help aimed towards the rescuing and clean up effort. The Philippine’s crops were all damaged as well, and will cause lasting trouble in their economy. Spotlight encourages all to donate to the Red Cross, helping the recovery of the wiped out countries. Helping out will leave a person feeling good, and possibly wanting to do more.
