Spotlight Shines On: Hillary Clinton
Hillary Rodham Clinton has announced that she will be running for president in the 2016 election. Despite losing the elections in 2008, Clinton is again reaching for the presidency as a democratic candidate. There are different opinions about her choice across the nation. The Spotlight Editorial Board voted 6 to 3 in favor of Clinton’s decision to run. Some staff members mentioned that Clinton’s experience as Secretary of State will help in the presidency. Others members of the staff added that it is her own decision if she wants to run and it should be up to her. Those opposed to Clinton’s candidacy argued that her recent email scandal made her an untrustworthy option. Clinton used her personal email for government matters and this put important federal information at risk. Clinton was also questioned by naysayers because of the previous presidential election she had lost. All in all Clinton has both redeeming and negative attributes that can make or break her election.
