Andrei Danilchenko, Managing Editor
When Andrei decided to become a journalist for Spotlight during his Sophomore year, he was interested in the freedom to say what he wanted, and the power that he could “lord over” everyone who wasn’t a journalist. The pursuit of information was also an interesting prospect to Andrei, as he had a very strong preference toward truth over rumor. Currently, he is working with Spotlight for his senior year and plans to stay a part of Spotlight until he graduates. Andrei is the Managing Editor of Spotlight this year, meaning he works as the second in command, and generally does whatever work is needed for the paper. His favorite type of story to write is definitely Opinion pieces, because they allows him total freedom of voice and opinion, unless it’s offensive. Andrei isn’t only a part of Spotlight. He is also a consistent member of Harlequins, Tiger Times, and the Wrestling team, which take up a majority of his free time. Outside of school, he also volunteers, does work with the Youth Commission, Black Cat Theater, and will soon be a part of Peer Leaders. In his free time, he often will go out and take a walk through the woods, see a movie, or just sit at home and get what sleep he can.
