After the general hubbub regarding Starbucks polar bear cookies, people have finally found the last pointless thing to get offended about. Nowadays, one of the most common things that people with not enough time on their hands argue about is the holidays. The subject of this year’s christmas wrath is the coffee company Starbucks. First it was their undecorated red cups, and now it is their polar bear cookies that look like they are having their throats slit. What seems to be happening is that people are obsessed with the idea of everything being all Christmas all the time as soon as Halloween ends. It makes no sense, and it disregards everything in between. Christmas is so ingrained in the minds of everybody in the US that the mere thought of anything different will send them into a frenzy. Starbucks was just the unfortunate victim because the way they expressed their Christmas cheer did not fit the requirements that the public had subconsciously set for them. People just need to relax when it comes to Christmas. While it is the most wonderful time of the year, it soon won’t be if stuff like this keeps happening.
