The 2026 baseball season is around the corner, and the Tigers have quite the year ahead, including a return to a slightly bigger stage.
When announcing their schedule, the Tigers subtly announced that for the third consecutive season, they’d be playing in the Stadium Classic at Hartford, Connecticut’s Dunkin’ Park, against the Hampshire Regional Raiders.
“Playing at Dunkin’ Park is a great experience for the players,” said Tigers head coach Matt Foley. “The staff at the stadium is excellent and they treat the players like they are in the pros.”
The Tigers, who endured a rainout during the 2025 installment of the Classic, are ecstatic to return to the ballpark.
“It’s something we’re really lucky to be able to do every year,” said senior infielder Ryan Netkovick. “I know a lot of us, myself included, have grown up going to games there…and it’s really cool to be able to play in such a great venue.”
The longtime home of the Eastern League’s Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of MLB’s Colorado Rockies, Dunkin’ Park seats well over six thousand baseball fans, and was voted the best facility at the AA level by Ballpark Digest in 2017 and 2018.
“Because we were rained out last year after one inning…I think the team is really looking forward to returning,” Foley continued. “With it being (on) a Saturday, we are hoping more family and friends as well as students and staff will make the trip down to Hartford to support the Tigers at a great venue.”
The Tigers will take the field in Hartford on Saturday, May 9th. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm. Admission is free for students and children, adults are $10.
