Our world is filled with people who have many different lives and perspectives. The average American life consists of school, work, and retirement. 88.9% of Americans in 2023 were not considered poor based on the official poverty rate of 11.1%. This means that roughly 88.9% out of every 100% Americans have incomes above the official poverty line. Most likely, almost every single one of those people complain about different things every day. Ranging from aspects of their lives like school and work, to people like friends and family.
Complaining is a common human behavior that often makes people question its necessity and frequency. On one note, complaining could be a healthy way of expressing emotions and a way to find a solution to fix problems. However, there is a growing concern that people may be complaining too much, leading to an immense amount of negativity that could overpower the positivity in life.
Not a lot of people realize how lucky they are to have the lives they have. In my opinion, nobody is ever satisfied with what they have, everyone will always want more and want what they can’t have.
People often take things for granted, overlooking their value until they’re gone. This can include relationships, health, and everyday occurrences. The routine of these things can lead to people gaining a lack of awareness or concern, making it easy to forget their significance. It is usually during rough times where we realize how much we should appreciate what we have.
Generally, the point I’m trying to get across is that everyone needs to think about how lucky they are for what they have. The next time you’re complaining about something, just know that it could always be worse. We need to realize that not everyone can have the same benefits that some of us have and we shouldn’t take everything for granted.
