The World Cup has been a tradition for many years where countries (teams) face to win the World Cup and determine the best team in the world. It first started back on July 13, 1930, Hosted by Uruguay. This event has been going on every 4 years for the past 92 years and takes place during the summer. But this year will be the 22nd World Cup. This year’s World Cup is different from many previous years because Qatar was chosen to be the host for this year’s World Cup but wasn’t prepared for it because Qatar only had one stadium in order to be able to host the World Cup Qatar had to build more. Qatar began to build back in 2017 seven stadiums needed to be done before 2022. In order to be able to host the world cup in July, Qatar put thousands of people to work. Because of this Qatar had migrant workers working during periods of extreme heat, resulting in dehydration. The Qatar World Cup Chief says between 400 and 500 migrant workers have died due to the construction of the stadiums in such extreme conditions. As it turned out, Qatar was not able to finish in time for the World Cup to happen during the summer of 2022 so they moved the date of the games to late November – December of 2022.

The score was 3 to 3 they tied but then went on to overtime but the score was still the same until penalties Argentina scored 4 and France scored 2. The overall score was 7 to 5 and Argentina was given the world cup trophy.
