Oriental Taste Food Review

Oriental+Taste+Food+Review

Recently, we visited the restaurant, Oriental Taste in Northampton. The atmosphere was pleasantly quiet and empty. While reading through the menu it was slightly apparent that the food was a bit on the pricey side, with sushi rolls being around 15 dollars each. The customer service was mediocre, and there were barely any wait staff present. Although when they were present, they treated us with respect and were kind all around.

We ordered pork fried rice, a “dynamite roll”, and a shrimp tempura roll. From ordering to receiving the food, it took about 15-20 minutes. The fried rice for sure was the best tasting part of the three items. When we received our food, we both noticed that the rolls looked kinda odd. The shrimp tempura, while good, was about double the size of a normal sized sushi roll making it very uncomfortable to eat, and the dynamite roll included no veggies, and the roll in general was very small; about the size of a quarter. It tasted as if it were a bit rushed, while there was no need to be sloppy. After finishing our meal, it was quite obvious why it was so empty.

While the food was okay, it was not good enough to go out of the way to make a second trip back any time soon. The dining experience is usually very good while in Northampton, but the oriental express was pretty sub-par. If you are taking a trip up to noho anytime soon in the mood for sushi, it would be recommended to try out Moshi-Moshi or other sushi places in the town.
