Sophia Mattson is currently a sophomore at South Hadley High School. She is a new addition to this semester’s Spotlight staff. Sophia joined journalism because she has an interest in writing, as well as voicing her opinions to share with others. She also favors the photography aspect of journalism, having visuals of what to write about. Some topics that she enjoys writing about include real world issues and current events. Sophia has been fond of writing for as long as she can remember and is looking forward to being a part of this semester’s Journalism class. 

Outside of school, Sophia has been taking dance classes for six years at Bodies in Motion. Sophia enjoys being with her friends and family as well as spending some alone time once in a while. Some hobbies she favors include organizing, drawing, shopping and watching her favorite TV shows.

Some of Sophia’s likes are her pets, socializing, cleaning and shopping. Some of her dislikes include bugs, school and disorganization. In her free time, Sophia can be seen enjoying some of her favorite movies or shows, spending time with her pets, or going somewhere to eat or shop with her friends or family. Sophia’s favorite places to be are definitely her bed and the beach. Her favorite food is burritos and lastly, her favorite movies are To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Notebook and The Parent Trap.
