The dire wolf is a species of wolf that roamed from Venezuela all the way up to Canada, and the species died off and went extinct nearly 10,000 years ago. Now for the first time in 10 millennia the dire wolf has been seen again, and this is right in America’s own Colossal Biosciences lab in Dallas Texas. The laboratory created 3 dire wolf pups using old preserved Dire Wolf DNA, and they also created other animals like pigs, horses, and deer, and more than 1,500 dogs. In my opinion this is complete insanity. There’s something about scientists creating animals in a lab that just seems extremely unnerving. I believe that the making of animals in a lab could be potentially very dangerous, and it is unholy and immoral.
Take the quote from the bible Isaiah 45:12 “ I made Earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens I marshaled their starry hosts.” These are God’s words explaining how he has designed the world himself to give the gift of life and he watches over all on the Earth and he creates and destroys, and is in total control of everything which lives or dies. How can it be right for humans to play God and revive deceased species? How can human beings play God? It just can’t be done, something about it seems so cynical and unrighteous. This is a category of science where humans should steer far away from.
Not only should humans stay far away from bioengineering since it goes against God’s will, but it could also be extremely dangerous. Take a look at what happens when labs start genetically modifying viruses. Scientists were studying, forming, and playing around with viruses for years, and nobody had seemed to think much about it. Though in January 2020, the world was plagued with Covid 19. Covid 19 caused at least 3 million deaths according to the World Health Organization. There are recent findings by the CIA, in which they can almost guarantee Covid 19 to be from a lab leak in China. Is it not possible that some sort of genetically modified animal, or maybe even a dire wolf could escape its containment from a lab here in the U.S? Is it possible that A scientist could make a mistake and create a super species? If such an event were to take place, who is to say what it would do to the world? Suppose it reproduced, there could be a huge offset in the environment if they couldn’t recapture it. The smallest of offsets could destroy an entire ecosystem and mankind within it. I don’t think that we are looking at something that can improve the future, but potentially lead us to be the next Jurassic Park!
