Our Government’s powerful rise and fall
The Government never comes to a decision. When one side doesn’t get what they want, it turns into a war, the same way children throw blocks at each other over toys. An anonymous source at the high school was quoted saying that “the entire problem is our fault, because we elected these officials.”
In the beginning, neither the Democrats or Republicans were coming to an agreement. Many people blamed the Republicans because they didn’t compromise. Massachusetts has mandatory health care, but the big problem is figuring out whether to help the people, or let them fend for themselves. The house speaker said that “the long and short of it is, there’s going to be a negotiation.”
Travis Chaput said that Obamacare is “the worst thing since the war on poverty.” He also expressed his displeasure towards health care run by the Government. However, there were Government officials who were still getting paid, but gave their money away. Another source at the high school described the effects of the shutdown on a personal level. They said that a large amount of government-supplied data had stopped working, such as websites used for research. That same source also believes that the Republicans are fully responsible for the shutdown, and that they did so because they are “afraid of Obamacare.” Most people have agreed that a good system of health care is necessary to stabilize the nation and help the people. Chaput, however, said that “only the strong will survive.” On a happier note, with the Federal Government back up and running, When asked about the restart of the Government, Chaput said that “it was a mistake for the Republicans to capitulate without getting any concessions.”
