Alex Burns
Burns, a senior at South Hadley High School, joined Spotlight because of his eagerness and genuine love for writing. He hopes that Spotlight is a stepping stone towards a future career in the field of journalism. Even though he might not be here for long due to being a member of the Class of 2021, Burns wants to be able to do his best to deliver great unique stories and articles to readers during his time with Spotlight. Intriguing news stories that leaves readers informed and knowledgeable is what Burns is hoping to bring to the Spotlight “table.”

Beyond Spotlight, Burns plays football and lacrosse for South Hadley High School. He hopes to play college lacrosse after graduating. Burns also has interests in photography and film, and is currently working as a counselor at the after-school program at the Holyoke YMCA. Burns enjoys listening to music, playing sports, collecting vinyl records, and hanging out with friends. His favorite book is Supermarket By Bobby Hall, and mentions him as a huge inspiration.
