South Hadley High School

Mr. Pluta:

Jeffrey Pluta is substituting for Ms. Cole in the 2016 school year following her pregnancy. He previously taught at Smith Academy, and coached the Baseball team. Pluta started at the high school after Thanksgiving and will continue to teach until Ms. Cole comes back after April break. He plans to come back and attempt to fill an open teaching or substitute position in the future, and defeat the high school baseball team the next chance he gets.

Wendt:

After Jonathan Kelly’s retirement, Maddy Wendt took over his history teaching position. Previously observing Joanna Morse and coaching Cross Country skiing at Harvard University, Wendt is now taking her history teaching experience to the high school.

REHM:

New to the school this year, Paula Rehm is the psychologist for both the middle and high school. A recent graduate from a college psych program, Rehm chose to come to the high school because she likes working with older students. She had been working between the middle and high school for 4 months and feels “very connected and welcome” at both. As time goes on, Rehm hopes to branch out within the school, and work on testing for special education students. Her time at the high school has been very “laid-back and comfortable”, and it enjoyable.
